To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, First Congregational Church will not be gathering for Sunday worship for the time being. Please check back for news about when we will be returning to a regular worship schedule. In the meantime, please feel free to subscribe to our weekly e-newsletter for ideas about how to nourish your spirit and build community in the weeks ahead. Peace be with you!
Join us for this festive all-ages annual tradition as we gather to make a joyful noise (and some mardis gras masks!) before stepping into the beautiful and quieter season of Lent. Dinner will be prepared by the First Congregational Church Youth Group (which is fundraising for this summer’s trip to the United Church of Christ National Youth Event at Purdue University.) Come as you are, bring a friend, and join us downstairs in Talkington Hall!
All-Ages Festival Worship for the Feast of Epiphany
It’s the first Sunday of the new year and we’re gathering around the table of God’s abundance and grace. Come join us as we follow that beautiful star all the way to Bethlehem with a very special Epiphany Pageant, all kinds of music, and communion for all. As always, your heart, and your light, make us whole.
Friday, December 6th @ 7:00 pm All-Ages Advent Spiral
Join us as we welcome the Light of the World with this beautiful candlelight service for all ages, inspired by the Waldorf tradition. Come walk our evergreen spiral as you receive the Light into your own heart, and offer it as gift to the world. All are welcome!
Tuesday, December 24th @ 5:30 pm Christmas Eve with Candles and Carols
Join us for candles and carols, choir and handbells, stores and songs, and all kinds of JOY…for this world that God so loves!
Join us this Sunday, November 3rd, as we give thanks for all the loved ones who have gone on from this life, but who are with us in spirit, always! We’ll have the Chancel Choir, special music from the First Congregational Combo and Ensemble, and all kinds of grateful joy. As always, your presence, and your prayers, make us whole!
Bring an animal you love (or a photo!) and join us for All-Ages Festival Worship in celebration of all creatures great and small! Please plan to park on the street or in a neighboring municipal parking lot. We’ll have music from our Chancel Choir AND the First Congregational Combo, a blessing of all the animals, and Communion for all! Don’t miss this!
Please note change of location! Come meet AT CHURCH in Talkington Hall for dinner, stories, and a celebration of all creatures great and small. Dinner is at 6:00 pm; program starts at 6:30 pm. All are welcome!
Individuals of all ages, and families of all shapes and sizes, are invited to join us on the fourth Friday of every month for dinner, stories, crafts, and learning…together! Use the Mission Street parking lot and come find us in the oak grove (just past the tennis courts) at Bush Park! Dinner is served from 6:00 – 6:30 pm, so come right from work, come as you are, and join us for great conversation and fun in all-ages community. Bring your neighbors, bring your friends, and join us! RSVP here to help us plan for dinner (but feel free to join us even if you don’t get a chance to sign up in advance; we always have enough, and we’ve set a place for you!)
All summer long, we’re celebrating the sacred beauty of our home place and our commitment to care for earth and all her creatures. From baptism on the shores of the Willamette to keeping plastics out of the ocean, we’re dedicating our long summer days to healing, and blessing, all the earth. Join us for Sunday worship and come with us as we venture out to heal and to bless — all ages, all summer long!
